Dr. Alex Tseng lectures on Bavinck's example of Reformed confessional engagement of culture and philosophy, and how such theological engagement of culture might proceed in Asian contexts today.

Dr. Mike Allen, professor of systematic theology at RTS Orlando, surveys the contemporary discourses and debates to which current academic theology attends and proposes a Reformed path forward.

Christianity and Science is the first English translation of Herman Bavinck’s Christelijke wetenschap, originally published in 1904. Here Bavinck focuses on the impact of the Christian worldview on the modern university, and how Christian scholars might apply particular doctrines in the service of the various academic disciplines, such as the humanities, religious studies, and the natural sciences. A companion to Bavinck’s Christian Worldview (Crossway, 2019), Christianity and Science offers edifying reflections useful for faculty development at institutions of Christian higher education as well as for individual scholars reflecting on their callings.

In January 2023, RTS Washington hosted Dr. Christopher Watkin for a lecture discussing his publication, Biblical Critical Theory, in which he explains how the storyline of the Bible provides a comprehensive vision for analyzing and illuminating the world around us.

With the publication of Neo-Calvinism: A Theological Introduction by Dr. Gray Sutanto and Dr. Cory Brock, we were privileged to host a discussion of Neo-Calvinism between Dr. Sutanto and Jennifer Patterson, director of the Institute of Theology and Public Life. Join us for a fascinating discussion about the intersection of Reformed Theology and the modern world. 

RTS Washington was pleased to host Dr. James Eglinton on our campus on May 11th. In this special lecture we are introduced to a groundbreaking work by J. H. Bavinck, "Personality and Worldview," recently translated by Dr. Eglinton. In it, we are given a new perspective on worldview, one which encourages us to upgrade from "the compass" to "the map."
